Hey, I just wanted to ask if anyone had an mp3 of "Since You Died." It was actually the first song I ever heard from The Dismemberment Plan and I can't find it anywhere.

YOU ARE INVITED. [27 Oct 2005|02:53am]

I really, really, really, really, really, really [etc] miss the Dismemberment Plan and thus…
You are cordially invited to a ‘Dismemberment Plan’ party. What is a Dismemberment Plan party? Let me tell you a bit about it.

We will listen and sing-along to Plan records, CDs, tapes, bootlegs, etc. We will share our favourite Plan memories. We will drink champagne and clear, expensive drinks. We will have a competition to see who can imitate Travis Morrison’s sweet on-stage moves; extra points if you can pull off the face AND the hot hip action. You are also invited to help me compile a lengthy list of ideas for ways to reunite the Plan. We will have a fully amazing time. And that’s just the start.

You can wear a full-out costume [there are so many possibilities] or you can wear a shiny shirt or a nice, pink push-up bra or too much liptstick, etc. You can bring champagne or black coffee or clear, expensive drinks and such. You can also bring your Plan shiz. Anything remotely rare should be shared with everyone; we all want to hear it. Essentially, if you love the Plan even an ounce as much as I do, you need to be at this shindig because it’s going to be a night of Plan-love. Ya dig?

Technical details:
Saturday, November 26th at Wuthering Depths at 7pm
Wuthering Depths is located at the corner of the 86th and 26th in Loyal Heights [Seattle, WA]. It is a yellow house with a white top. Go through the driveway and through the fence and down the stairs to the blue light basement.

I hope you can make it. It’s never just another Saturday night; not with you in attendance.

w00rrddd.... I just joined. I thought I'd promote one second favorite Artist. My first would be Ken Andrews. But Travis is Creeping up to be next to him! But I'm a HUGE D-Plan fan as well with Travis' solo CD. And, yeah...rep?

Thursday's set [25 Jun 2005|08:15pm]

This is what what written down. i can't remember if this was the way he played them. i swear he played I Do earlier in the set. Never too late was crossed out and Saturday night was added in betwen Make believe and Represent. He played What's your fantasy over more mellow music, which gave it a different flair. He also performed Song for the Orca, which isn't on the setlist because some crazed hipster boy was begging for one more and hugging him and stuff. Not that I can complain, he rocked that shit.

Everyone was dancing and having a great time. i didn't stay long after the show ended because my friend was hungry, so i didn't get to hear Travis' fish semen tasting story he promised he'd tell me. It's a good thing we left though, because shortly after we did a metalhead from the concert next door was stabbed behind our venue. I don't know if he died or not, but that's what all accounts are saying. (That explains the haiku for Tampa...even though i don't think our birds are any more ghetto than elsewhere...)

TMo tour update * Booking West Coast [14 Jun 2005|09:05am]

[ mood | mischievous ]

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Spoke with Travis last night after his show and he told me the tour is going well...hope you kiddies have been able to catch a show or two! He is going to hit up the areas already reached where the crowds are good & plenty! so you kids on the other coast will see him again, i'm sure!

Travis is trying to do a west coast thing however, it is costly! he's accepted my offer to take on the role of Booking Agent for a west coast tour so that he can come out before and maybe after the cd is released. if you are interested in having Travis come to your neck o' the woods, email me at booking@starstruckpix.com with the following:

your name and email/phone
venue(s) you have in mind, places you think he would draw well
its location (address, website, etc)
all ages or is it 21+
booking contact if you have it. if not, no worries. and if you have local bands that draw well and are compatible with TMo, toss those names and emails in there as well :)

we've got some ideas spinning already, hopefully this next tour will be a success. and if he keeps his promise, you'll hear his tribute to yours truly in a new song, tentatively titled, "Born in '75" or "The Phone Booth", which is were we first *met* and stuff :)

so send me them emails so we can get TMo into your city!!

Just have to bitch. [13 Jun 2005|04:22am]

I'm leaving NYC to visit family in Florida. So I won't be able to see him on the 17th here. And then he's playing in Orlando *the day after* I leave. Argh!! Once was not enough! I wanted to catch him again :/

x-posted from my journal [06 Jun 2005|04:19pm]

(last night's show at North Six in Brooklyn, NY)

Travis Morrison exudes sex from every pore.

His set was way too short, and the audience was too tired or just too easy-to-please to push for an encore. He only played one song from Travistan, and he didn't do What's Your Fantasy or Dirty. Save for the one song, it was entirely new stuff. I can't wait for the new CD. The new songs are awesome. Really danceable, and terribly sweet. They seemed to all be relationship songs, nothing like the political-historical concept on Travistan. The crowd was very small and I was close to the stage, so this time I got to see his odd facial contortions and sextacular rump-shaking. The way the man thrusts when he's playing his guitar! Homina. But the best part was when he was at the keyboard. I could see under the keyboard and I was watching him sliding around on the stool, legs flailing, like he had some crazy masculine itching going on? Hehe. He's the man. Sometimes when he was playing he'd get this insanely happy smile on his face. It reminded me of Dana Carvey's bit about how guitar players always look surprised when they change chords, remember that one? Like a child swelling with creative energy and pride. I must stop gushing. Oh, and wordcop would be disappointed in me, but I didn't have the ovaries to actually talk to him or shake his hand, even though he was clearly uber approachable.

The opening acts. were. nuts. Well there were three, and the first band, Cologne, were wonderful. Sadly they don't have a CD yet. I hope to follow their career. The lead singer was a really nice guy, and handsome too. The second band act were a Japanese ("via Seattle") avante-noise disaster called Na. I spent most of their set biting my fingers and periodically whining "is it over yet??" After Na was... I don't remember their name but they were a very unremarkable hardcore/screamo act; completely uninteresting. The frontman from Na is this psycho little guy on crack or something. He danced and jumped and shrieked like a maniac right up against the stage during the acts that followed his own. He was amusing. It was hard to tell whether Travis loved the dude or was barely tolerating him, but there were a few interesting exchanges between the two of them. At one point Travis asked him, "You wanna dance on stage for this one?" and the dude backed down and said "No." Travis laughed and said "Oh yeah now you're bashful?"

Another great moment. Some guy: "Spider in the Snow!!" Travis: "Aw come on. Man, everything was going so well and you had to..."

By the way consider all of my quotes to be paraphrasing from memory and probably not too accurate.

But, to reiterate, Travis's set was way too short.
